My name is Celia Kimbrough. As an artist I am passionate about trying to create a better "work of art". In downtown Independence with its urban alleys, old buildings, railroad, river, and awesome new amphitheater; I have found a photographer's paradise. Here for several years, it has been my pleasure to photograph many wonderful people who have helped me develop the CK style. Our style is epitomized by the acronym "RAD": Real, Adventurous, and Dynamic.
First, by "real" I seek to capture raw emotion-your feelings at this moment in time: how you really feel about graduation, about marriage, about the new baby, about family. Your sessions will be unlike any you have experienced before. I take the time to get really acquainted; to help you relax so as to capture you, the real you. My greatest goal is to have you see yourself as the beautiful person you truly are. This is my reward.

Second, "adventurous" describes your experience during the session. For sure there will be laughter and fun; but, since we never know exactly what will happen, expect to be surprised. When photographing high school seniors we go a little crazy; we want every senior to get something different than their friends. We will get you wet, put you in trees; for as we stretch our creativity we encourage yours. In very much the same spirit, Celia and Michael, working as team, shoot weddings. This gives the bride two photographers for the whole day. Weddings are adventurous enough without having to play "where's the photographer" when a memory occurs.
Third, "dynamic" is the ever moving nature of life that we try to capture. There is excitement and energy when you are moving. We will photograph you walking, whirling, splashing in a river, climbing on a wall, kissing a bride, rocking your baby, even juggling (or attempts there of). It gives our photography that action-movie feel. You are our model . . . our Star.
To have a wonderful session, we must first build a relationship. We have to connect and be comfortable enough with one another for the real you to surface, or for your family to be relaxed enough to be themselves. We become friends, and then we go out and share an experience in photography. We hope it is "RAD".
Keep it Real,
Celia Kimbrough
